Blessing in Disguise

《船到桥头自然直》

I concede I was being too pessimistic about a month ago when the then sour news of not going for Ops B struck a few of us, spawning some to react negatively with greater intensity than the others. I'm not one who have the inclination to convert discontent into violence, thus the struggle to cope with the discomfort in my feelings became ever more prominent. I was worried about guard duties, cross training, exercises, amongst others and I recall pouring out my complaints to Teddy then, who was really wise in retrospect, as he comforted me by pointing out that it might be a blessing in disguise. Indeed it has.

Life in camp has taken a turn for the better as we are recognized by PCs as ORD personnel and the restrictions that were once imposed on us by exercises have become inapplicable. With me having only less than 20 working days left in camp, ORD has emerged from the blanket of mist to be within reach. With the painful liability coming to an end, the way forward is to plan for the days ahead after ORD. Yeah! =)
